Powered by Vortech® Technology
Powerful Grinding Arm
This powerful grinding arm handles tough, dense bio-waste – like bones, fruit pits, or fibrous peels – without slowing down. Its smart design keeps food moving, which helps speed up grind time and improves heat flow for a smoother, faster cycle.
Multi-Tooth Cutting Blades
Multiple sharp cutting points break down food scraps more thoroughly – from soft leftovers to tougher bits like eggshells and small bones. That means finer grinding, better airflow, and a cleaner, faster drying phase.
Advanced Ceramic Non-Stick Coating
Prevents sticky build-up so food flows smoothly and cleanup is simple. This specialized ceramic layer supports better heat transfer and contributes to the system’s fast, efficient performance.
Robust Drivetrain System
The drive train powers every turn of the grinding arm, built to handle resistance from tough scraps without losing speed. It’s the backbone of smooth, reliable performance, cycle after cycle.

Frequently asked questions
How does a bio-waste recycler work?
Our bio-waste processor works in three stages:
- Heat: The inside of the FoodCycler heats up to remove moisture and destroy 99% of bacteria.
- Grind: Our patented Vortech rotary blade system grinds bio-waste into a dry by-product.
- Cool: The unit cools down for safe handling of the by-product.
Is the FoodCycler worth it?
Absolutely! The FoodCycler will significantly improve your quality of life by keeping your kitchen clean and odor-free. It reduces how often you need to deal with waste, and you can feel good about doing your part to fight climate change. Plus, your bio-waste recycler will produce a nutrient-rich soil amendment for gardening!
How do I clean the FoodCycler?
Maintenance is a breeze! As long as the blades aren’t clogged with excessive amounts of bio-waste, you can simply run the cycle to eliminate the waste inside your FoodCycler.
If you have especially stubborn dried bio-waste, just soak the bucket in soapy water.
How much electricity does the FoodCycler use?
- Eco 3™: 0.9 kWh of energy per cycle
- Eco 5™: 1.5 kWh of energy per cycle
How much bio-waste can be added to the FoodCycler food waste recycler at once?
The Eco 3 food recycler machine holds up to 3.5 liters of bio-waste at once. The Eco 5 holds up to 5 liters of bio-waste at once. We recommend the Eco 3 for households with 1-3 people and the Eco 5 for 4+ people.
What bio-waste can be recycled?
The FoodCycler can handle almost any type of bio-waste except for large beef bones. So, go ahead and toss in those peels, wings, BBQ ribs, mussel shells, pineapple leaves, and yesterday’s uneaten lunch. Let our technology do the work!
Other bio-waste recyclers can handle some food scraps, such as vegetable peels, eggshells, stems, and other leftovers, but not many can handle bones, tough leaves (like pineapple), processed oils, or cheese like a FoodCycler!

Why is it important to recycle bio-waste?
Globally, food waste causes up to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
It’s important to recycle bio-waste because it stops the bio-waste from entering the landfill, where it will breakdown and creates methane, which is a dangerous greenhouse gas. Methane, when released into the atmosphere, is 20x more harmful than carbon dioxide. This causes the world to warm up, leading to global warming and climate change. By limiting the amount of bio-waste entering landfills, there is less methane produced which harms the earth and the environment. Recycling bio-waste diverts food from going to the landfill and releasing harmful gases; instead, the by-product produced from the food can be mixed with soil and used to boost plants, closing the loop of bio-waste.
What is recycled bio-waste used for?
Your bio-waste recycler creates a nutrient-rich by-product that can be used as a soil amendment to enrich your soil and make your plants grow better. There’s a reason so many gardeners love the FoodCycler!
Foodilizer, what we call the by-product from our bio-waste recycler, is a research-backed soil amendment and compost feedstock. Foodilizer is jam-packed with nutrients that plants need, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK).
These are nutrients that help plants grow stronger with more resilient roots. Foodilizer itself is not a compost, but rather can be a feedstock for composting and has been shown to complement compost initiatives effectively.
Do FoodCyclers produce any odors during operation?
FoodCyclers are equipped with carbon filters, which allow for odorless processing.
The odors from the bio-waste run throughout the carbon filters in our bio-waste recycler, which take and remove the odor from the bio-waste. Carbon filters are great at catching and absorbing the nasty odours from bio-waste.
These carbon filters are even able to remove most of the odor from the smelliest bio-waste, such as fish or other seafood! However, if you are cycling rotten, smelly, or potent food wastes (such as rotten meat, fish bones, or old cheese), you may get an odor. Depending on the age of the carbon filters, they may not be as effective, so you may also get an odor. In those cases, you can change the filters.
Is it safe to use a bio-waste recycling machine in home kitchens?
FoodCyclers are safe to use in the home kitchen. Simply place the bio-waste recycler on the countertop or slide it discreetly into a cabinet.
But FoodCyclers should be handled with care. Make sure to read the label and follow the instructions provided. Avoid reaching your hands into the bucket, as the blades inside our bio-waste recyclers are very sharp.
